Your health bar is located on the HUD in the bottom left of the screen. If you injure yourself, or are attacked (melee/gunshot), a combination of three things can happen:
- You can lose direct health
- You can injure a body part
- You can begin bleeding
You can increase your health by going to a hospital for treatment or using a medical kit or first aid kit. Bandages will also restore a little health, but they are mainly used to stop bleeding. More on that below.
When your health bar reaches zero, you will be incapacitated. In this state you will be unable to move or access items like your phone or inventory. Press G on your keyboard if you wish to call for emergency medical services (if they are online).
After 5 minutes of waiting, you have the option to respawn at the morgue. You will lose all of your money, and items in your inventory when you respawn at the morgue. Your purchased vehicles, houses, hotels, etc. all remain. Make sure to follow the new-life rule and do not immediately return to the place of your death. Remember that when you wake up, you will also not immediately remember how you ended up in the hospital. Refer to our rules for more information.
If you die around local NPCs, they have the chance to call 911 for you which will alert any online police of your location. Depending on how busy they are, the police may respond and bring you to a hospital for treatment.
It is also possible to bring your friends to the hospital by carrying them.
If you injure yourself there is a chance you will hurt a specific portion of your body, which are called "limb injuries". Depending on their severity can cause you to walk and run slower, and/or stumble around.
To fully resolve a limb injury you need to visit the nearest hospital and check in.
There is a chance you will begin bleeding when injured. Your health will go down everytime your screen flashes, depending on how bad you are bleeding.
To temporarily pause bleeding, you can use gauze.
To treat and eventually stop bleeding, you must use a bandage.
Depending on the level of bleeding, multiple bandages may be required to fully stop the bleeding.
Buy gauze and bandages at the pharmacy.
If you are bleeding and have a limb injury you might notice that walking or running around will cause you to lose blood faster. If you do not have any medical supplies on you it may be better to call for help in this situation.
